About me…

My journey to becoming a lactation consultant started when I was little and I decided that when I grew up I wanted to be “a nurse and a mother.” I did not take a direct path into either role but eventually achieved both. I have been a pediatric RN since 2004 and gave birth to my first child in 2007 (the photo here shows me feeding my youngest while my three-year-old feeds me)... that means I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years and now have two teenagers!

In 2018, I completed all the requirements to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and I shifted my work focus from bedside nursing to become a lactation consultant at a pediatric hospital.

What I love about being a Lactation Consultant is the opporutnity to walk alongside new parents to provide insight, education, and the encouragement needed to help the family thrive.

I love getting to support new families and I’m constantly amazed I have this opportunity to be invited into the sacred spaces of people’s homes, especially in such a fragile time of transition!

I am always interested in learning and growing as a professional so over the years I have added other credentials: I have a BSN and an MS in Nursing Education. I am also a Certified Pediatric Nurse and Child Passenger Safety Technician (qualified to inspect car seats and educate caregivers to install them correctly). Because I work so closely with new parents facing significant challenges I have also completed certificate courses in Perinatal Mood Disorders and in Perinatal Bereavement.

I look forward to supporting you in your lactation journey!
